Fundamentals of Combat Rifle

This course is designed for those who have prior rifle/carbine training and want to fully develop a solid foundation of combat readiness to respond in a high threat/deadly force encounter. You will learn the mental and physical aspects of combat rifle shooting including proper mindset. You will learn and expand your knowledge of all the foundational rifle marksmanship and manipulation skills including stance, grip, draw, sight picture, sight alignment, trigger press, recoil management, follow through, trigger reset, loading, unloading and clearing malfunctions competently. You will learn the fundamentals of combat movement, cover, concealment and much more. This course is a must for anyone who wants to improve their combat rifle skills, marksmanship and their ability to deploy a long gun in defense of themselves or others. This course will give you the foundational principles/concepts that will prepare you for our Advanced Combat Rifle 1 (ACR1) course.

Course length - 1 Day (8:30am - 5:00pm)

Prerequisites - Prior P.O.S.T. or other basic firearms training.

Cost - $200.00 (includes range fees for non 17 South Members)

Location: 17 South Rod and Gun Club, 5899 North Costal Highway, Fleming, Georgia

 

Course Requirements

First things first, empty your cup. Neither a full cup nor a big ego have room for more. Come with an open-mind and humble spirit ready to learn and work hard to move forward in your skill development. This is a Combat Rifle course so you will get dirty, sweaty and tired. (But it will be so worth it!)

  1. Proof of previous rifle training. (Certified Law Enforcement Officer’s automatically qualify)

  2. A quality semi-automatic rifle with iron sights and/or optic and a sling.

  3. A quality semi-automatic pistol (iron sights or optic) with a tactical or duty holster.

  4. At least 3 magazines for your rifle.

  5. At least 3 magazines for your pistol with tactical or duty mag pouches.

  6. Tactical or Duty belt

  7. Full tactical kit (vest, plate carrier, helmet, etc) Kit will not be used all day…

  8. Minimum of 400 rounds of quality rifle range ammo.

  9. Minimum of 100 rounds of quality pistol range ammo.

  10. Weather appropriate attire that you don’t mind getting dirty. (Patrol uniforms may get ruined)

  11. Hearing protection and Eye protection

  12. Hydration - Water, Gatorade, etc.

  13. Lunch/Snacks

    Recommended Items - Electronic ear pro, Hat, Gloves, Sunscreen, bug repellant
